What makes Grassroots different from other gyms?
At Grassroots we design our workouts with the primary goals of improving strength and body composition in a way that bolsters joints healthy and keeps you in the gym. What's popular in the fitness industry is bootcamp workouts and HIIT / "CrossFit style" workouts, but we ignore industry trends and have built a system from the ground up specifically designed to maximize results.
How long does it take to see results?
It will vary depending on your goals and experience, but the average fat loss client loses 8.27 pounds with us in the first 28 days. Results take time no matter what your goals are, but if you follow your coach's guidance consistently, they will inevitably come. If you are a beginner, results will come fairly quickly; you may start to see a difference in your strength and overall fitness in as little as a couple weeks!
What are the workouts like?
At Grassroots you will learn how to properly lift weights. Our workouts revolve primarily around weight lifting, with calisthenics, corrective exercise, mobility drills and conditioning work added in to create a well-rounded program. Some days may be more focused on heavy strength training, while others might be designed to increase stamina or mobility, but we are not another bootcamp facility and we don't ask our members to perform high-risk/high-skill movements like Olympic weightlifting. That's not to suggest that Olympic lifting is "bad," but the risk/reward ratio doesn't make sense for general fitness in our opinion.
What are the workout times?
Presently, our Semi-Private members train Monday, Wednesday and Friday with workouts at 7am, 8am, 9am, 10am, and 5pm. Our Group Fitness members can train with us Monday-Friday with workouts at 5:30am, 12pm, and 6pm. Our members are not committed to any one workout time, they self schedule whatever time they need using our custom app. We will add more times as our member base grows - so bring a friend!
How much does it cost, and what payment methods do you accept?
You can see all of our membership options, view pricing, and sign up by clicking the "PRICING" tab in the menu at the top of this page! If you have additional questions, you can text us at 737-324-6555 to chat or schedule a time to meet with a coach. We accept all major credit cards as well as ACH payments using bank account information. Our memberships are auto-recurring so we cannot accept cash, personal checks, or cash exchange apps such as Venmo, Cash App or Zelle.
How do I sign up for a free trial?
It's simple! Just click the "FREE TRIAL" button at the top of this page, enter some basic info, setup the app, and schedule your first workout! The first two workouts are on us. A coach will be there to guide you through your workout and answer any questions you have after the workout. If you love it (we know you will), we'll get you signed up! If you decide it's not for you, we'll part ways as friends.
What is the difference between Group Fitness and Semi-Private?
Our Semi-Private Personal Training members train together 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a maximum allowable group size of 6. Workouts are biased toward improving and fine-tuning technique, and building a solid foundation of strength. The small group size gives you all the benefits of personal training with the added energy and accountability of a couple workout partners. Our Group Fitness members meet Monday-Friday with a maximum group size of 12. Workouts still focus on strength, but tend to be a little faster paced and include additional core work, conditioning, and METCON style workouts.
What type of membership is best for me?
Beginners, strength athletes, individuals with a complex injury history, or anyone looking for a high-level of attention to fine tune movement patterns or learn how to do things the right way the first time would likely have the best experience in a Semi-Private group. People who feel reasonably comfortable training with weights, enjoy the energy of a bigger group, want to train more than 3 days per week, or are on a tighter budget may prefer a Group Fitness membership. Many people like to spend a few months in a Semi-Private group to start and move to a larger group once we have built some good habits.
Does membership include nutrition coaching?
In addition to your workouts, you have the ability to schedule a monthly nutrition check-in with our head coach which includes a body composition scan. The best approach to nutrition is highly individual, but we have a bulletproof nutrition strategy for new members primarily interested in improving body composition. We start with an InBody scan to set your baseline, give you a nutrition framework to follow for your first 28 days, then retest on the InBody. This gives us the ability to give custom macro goals based on what your body is ACTUALLY responding to in real time. No more internet calculators, we use real data.
Do I have to sign a long term contract?
Nope! We invest heavily into our members, so if you're not invested in what we're working on together it winds up being a frustrating experience for both parties. So if you decide it's time to go we want you to have the option. We do, however, require 28 days notice if you'd like to cancel your membership.
